Womens Division One: Vicious, Delicious and Ambitious 27 v 0 Old Edwardian

ON AN OVERCAST start to the day, there was a great display of rugby by Vicious; delicious and ambitious. A good run by the no. 11 for V.D.A led to the 1st try. They then turned up the pressure after a scrum and led to a try for number 7. Although their play was quality, perhaps they were trying too many passes and by-playing too much. A good crash ball led to try for no.10 and there was good phase play too. A good run led to a try by no.16 and then to top of the match another try for no.14

Mens Division One-  League One: Mighty Mutant Moose People 17 v 12 Elite Y Geltaidd

There was good pressure from the off led to two tries in the first half, which led to a try by no. 15, followed by a good running try by no.13. Some good work led to a try by no.10, but then there was a recovery by tries for 31 and 8.

Mens Division Two – League One: Wasters Y Geltaidd 19 v 17 Scrum of the Earth

In one of the most closely fought games, Wasters beat Scrum of the Earth. First up was a try after an impressive run by Dafydd Morgan which made it 7-0. Then S.O.E. stepped up and scored three tries to make it 17-7 but then Wasters stepped up again to even it up but a last minute try won them the game 19-17

Mens Division One – League One: Elite y Geltaidd 50 v 0 Bois y Ware

This match was a really one-sided contest with Bois y Ware consigned to the fact they were going to lose. A kick off error led to the first try. The Elite Boys then scored a further four times. The 5th try resulted in a hat-trick for no.31. They then scored a further two tries which resulted in  Elite Y Geltaidd reaching 50 points.

Division One Cup – Semi Final: Centurions 22 v 17 West Coast Vikings

Lovely jinking run led to the 1st try for no.11 then the West Coast Vikings scored close to half time to make it 5-5 after a turguid half. Some good phases lead to another try. There was some good running out of defence for another try then Vikings pulled it out of the fire to score another three tries to take the game 22-17

Division Two Trophy: Wasters Y Geltaidd 17 v 10 Wunderwurst

In a docile, uneventful fixture, Wunderwurst opened the scoring. Wasters then scored to make 5-5 at half time. Then there was a Dafydd Morgan try for 12-5 but Wunderwurst never let up and scored again. Wasters came from the shackles to win the game 17-10.

Division Two Shield: Scrum of the Earth 12 v 12 Generic 7s

In this game Generic 7s won a close game. The game started off by one of the players was shoved into touch. The try did come in the end for Generic 7s but then they came back for 7-5. S.O.E won a try, with Generic 7s getting a try combined with a conversion to even the game. Generic 7s ended up winning the tie.

Division Two Plate: Pistol Shrimp 31 v 5 Powdered Rangers

The game started by the referee checking the team registration, as other players were brought in. So the game was won by forfeiture but they did decide to play a friendly. There was a try after good team work by Andy Rolfe. Then a nice run led to a try by Ste Harrison. Then there was a try after some lightning pace by Santino Alessandro. There was also a try for Rolfe again and for Dan Simcock. A notable mention for Rob Clark for his great work in the scrum.

Division Two Cup Final: Budgie Smugglers 10 v 19 St. Peters

In the last match of the weekend, there was the final between Budgie Smugglers and St. Peters, who looked good all weekend. First of all there was a try for St. Peters, but the Smugglers came back with a try to even up the scores. St. Peters scored just before half-time to take the momentum going into the break. An excellent run by no.4 scored a notable try for St. Peters. The eventual winners then lost their discipline for two yellow cards for no.18 and no.7. Then Budgie Smugglers scored for a consolation to make the game 19-10
