The fencing team suffered two defeats against top of the league Bath first’s, with the Men’s team losing quite heavily 135-93, whilst the Women’s team also lost, but to a lesser margin, with the final score 135-114.


The Netball Club endured mixed fortunes, as the firsts, seconds and thirds all played at home. The 3rds suffered a 35-19 defeat against Swansea Met 1sts, in a relatively close game. The seconds also lost, 25-42 against Bristol 4ths, so it was left to the firsts to put a smile back on everyone’s faces, as they came out convincing winners, 62-27 against Cardiff University 5ths.


Aberystwyth Basketball Club also enjoyed a successful day, as both the Men’s and Women’s teams came out worthy winners in their games. The Men’s firsts won 69-44 against Swansea Metropolitan Men’s, and the Women’s firsts beat Cardiff University 2nds 53-44.


The badminton team were another club that suffered mixed fortunes, as the Men’s first team lost 5-3 at home to the impressive University of Wales Institute Cardiff.

The Women’s first team fared a little better, snatching a draw from the jaws of defeat after winning the last game, which made the overall score 4-4.


Two other popular racket sports didn’t have the best of results against Swansea University firsts. The Squash Club suffered a whitewash, with Swansea recording a 5-0 victory.



The Men’s tennis also suffered a heavy defeat against Swansea as they lost 10-2 at Aberystwyth Lawn Tennis Club.
