SURPASSING their initial target five times over, a fundraiser on the site JustGiving started by students of Aberystwyth University have raised over £2,500 in tributes paid to a student who has died.
Stefan Osgood, the Vice-President of Aber Snow, passed away on Tuesday night, and now his friends have set up the online donation page with the money raised going to the charity Mind.
There is also a memorial dinner planned for the coming week for society members and students in honour of Stefan, with fundraising for Mind on the night.
A statement from the club reads:
Yesterday we lost not just a committee member and one of our closest friends but we also lost the life and soul of the club. Stefan’s impact on the club, as well as its members, has been nothing short of incredible and we will all feel the loss of such an amazing person for a long time to come.
As a club, our thoughts go to all of his friends and family at these hard times. But as friends, we love you and we will miss you. Your generous and friendly nature brought people in this club together and their friendships will be a testament to the truly incredible person you are.
Stefan championed Mind as the charity Aber Snow should support and therefor please consider donating to the page for a truly incredible cause:www.justgiving.com/StefanOsgood/
A spokesperson for the police said that the case was being investigated, and the death is not being treated as suspicious.
