AS WE ARE all aware, ‘tis the season to be jolly. Therefore, being the Lifestyle section of ASM, we have brought you a selection of funky festive cocktails to get you into the Christmas spirit.
Chocolate orange cocktail
The first step is to make the orange syrup. Combine the water with the sugar and the zest in a pan until it boils. Cool and strain the syrup.
Slightly dampen the rims of four glasses with water and dip them in the choclate shavings. In a cocktail shaker, shake the crème de cacao, orange syrup, vodka and orange juice with ice (you may need to make in 2 batches). Pour into the glasses.
100g golden caster sugar
zest of 1 orange or
grated dark chocolate, to decorate
100ml crème de cacao
60ml orange syrup
40ml orange juice
Like the chocolate orange cocktail, the first step is to make the syrup. In this case it is the ginger and is made with ginger, 100ml of water and caster sugar, mixed in a pan. Wait until it boils. Leave to cool and then strain the mixture.
Then, fill a glass with ice. Shake the advocaat and the ginger mixture then pour over ice. Top with Babysham.
