Aberystwyth University climbs 50 places in Times Higher Education World University Rankings

CONTINUING Aberystwyth University’s recent good spell in the rankings, the University rose 50 places in Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2015-2016, which was published on Wednesday 30th September.

Aberystwyth University are currently ranked in the band of 301-350, out of 800 institutions worldwide featured in the rankings. The University also managed to climb into the Top 40 of institutions featured from the United Kingdom, and out of 78 institutions became the 39th.

The rankings are based on five categories: teaching, research, citations, industry income, and international outlook. The University excelled in the categories of international outlook, where they came 162nd, and citations, where it was ranked 260th.

It is the third league table published in the last few weeks where Aberystwyth University’s position has improved dramatically.

California Institute of Technology tops the rankings, followed by the University of Oxford, Stanford University, University of Cambridge, and MIT.

Out of the other high performing Welsh University’s Cardiff remains 182nd overall, and Bangor joins us in the band of 301-350.
