The work will mean the closure of the Bath Street car park from the 15th of March. A Ceredigion County Council spokesperson said: “Ceredigion County Council is pleased to confirm that work will shortly commence on the Bay Hotel redevelopment project that includes the Bath Street public car park to the rear”

“The refurbishment and extension of the Bay Hotel, to create a 63-bed Premier Inn hotel, is expected to contribute positively to the local economy in terms of generating increased visitor numbers to the town, particularly the seafront.”

The Bay Hotel site has been empty since June 2009.
