Penglais Farm delayed again

CONTRACTORS Balfour Beatty have informed the university that their revised target to deliver 256 rooms and the Hub at Fferm Penglais during the first term of the 2014-15 academic year is unlikely to be met. The exact revised date was never communicated to students, in order to “manage expectations”, but was thought to be in November.

Most students who are waiting to move into accommodation in Penglais Farm are currently living in flats in Cwrt Mawr, whilst those who chose not to relocate at all this year are in Trefloyne and PJM.

All additional costs incurred due to the delays will be met by Balfour Beatty, and an increase to the budget for Penglais Farm of £250,000 will also be met by the contractors.
