Wiff Waff, Wales’ first ping pong bar

THE NEW bar that was first announced as Project 11 has revealed its identity. The bar will be called ‘Wiff Waff’ and is the first of its kind in Wales, branding itself “a different entertainment experience for all”.

10557495_1449056765372429_6707241790088228817_oThe new restaurant cocktail bar have revealed that their “unique experience” is a concept based around  ‘active’ entertainment with the game of Wiff Waff (Table Tennis) at its heart.

Wiff Waff will have 4 competition ping pong tables that you are able to book by the half hour, with all equipment included.  The restaurant-bar is split into three rooms. The main room, The Sports Hall, will consist of three ping Pong Tables, with dining and seating areas as well as the main bar, and access to a garden. The second room, The Library, is intended to give a more “relaxing experience” and contains booths where you can eat, and sofas to try out cocktails. The third and final room is The Headmasters study, and contains a high end competition table which is available for parties or group bookings.

Wiff Waff’s food menu is based around a pizza and burger menu, with their cocktail menu featuring traditional cocktails as well as a selection of new recipes.

The name Wiff Waff  is the early name of what is now known as Table Tennis or Ping Pong, a game that has evolved from its beginnings in the drawing rooms of British aristocracy to now being an Olympic sport.

Wiff Waff Bars aim is to provide an experience that can be enjoyed by all, from a relaxed family day time venue to a fun night time place or just a relaxing evening out.

Untitled2It has also been revealed that Wiff Waff Bar will be offering low cost sessions at non-peak times to clubs, societies and schools. They state that they will be working very closely with Table Tennis Association Wales, the national governing body of the sport to promote Table Tennis in the community, as a way of keeping fit in an enjoyable and fun way.

The bar will be opening for food, fun and drink on Sunday the 21st at 12pm until 10pm. They will be open 7 days a week from 12 until 12 Monday to Thursday, 12 until 1am on Fridays, 10am until 1pm on Saturdays and 10 until 11pm on Sundays.

The bar will be located on Market Street on the same site as the old Bella Vita/Orangery.
