New Mayor cuts ribbon on B&M Bargains

ABERYSTYWTH saw one the UK’s biggest and fastest growing retailers open its doors in the town last Saturday 10th May.

bnmThe new B&M store has taken the empty space in the Parc-y-Llyn Retail Park, where MFI was previously located, which has been empty for the last five years. The ribbon was cut on the store at 9am by Cllr Mark Hemingway and Cllr Brenda Haines. This was Cllr Haines’ first official engagement as the new Mayor of Aberystwyth after taking over the position from Cllr Wendy Morris-Twiddy the previous day.

Speaking of her appointment at the inaguration ceremony in Penparcau, she said it was an honor which she never expected. She said: “It was a very proud moment to be made mayor and I hope I can do the role justice.”

Customers are offered a wide selection of both branded and own label products spanning ranges including groceries and toiletries as well as furnishings, home, electrical and gardening.

The opening of the store comes with the creation of 60 new jobs for the Aberystwyth area, bringing boost to the local economy.
