The shop was officially opened on the 31st March by Lucy O’Donnell, Deputy Lending Services Team Leader of the Thomas Parry Library, and CEO to Aber SU, John Glasby, and will be helping serve the needs of the students and staff of the School of Management and Business, Department of Law and Criminology and Department of Information Studies who are currently based on Llanbadarn campus.

Aber SU’s Marketing & Communications Manager Jamie Barker has said that the “shop will initially stock a range of sandwiches, snacks, drinks, milk, stationery, non-prescription medicines, female hygiene products, toiletries and cigarettes, and students and staff will be able to take advantage of ultra-competitive lunch meal deals similar to those available in the Penglais campus shop. Further product ranges will be added following feedback from customers”.

The Llanbadarn shop will be in addition to the University’s Blas Padarn food outlet and Coleg Ceredigion’s own cafeteria on campus. Barker added that “following the installation of the cash machine in the entrance to Blas Padarn earlier this year, the opening of the shop represents the second phase of our plans to provide students with enhanced facilities at the Llanbadarn campus.

“Detailed proposals to refurbish a larger area on the ground floor of the Padarn building to include leisure and catering facilities are being developed”.

The shop is located on the ground floor of the Thomas Parry Library and term-time opening hours will be between 11am and 3pm which “will be flexed to meet customer feedback”.
