The University are working in conjunction with Boston Campus Limited, who owns the premises from which the campus will operate. Further plans are in development between both parties to build modern residential facilities for up to 2000 students by the following academic year.

It was also announced that students, as well as academic and administrative staff from both Mauritius and Aberystwyth, will have the opportunity to work between both campuses and students in Mauritius will also have the choice of transferring to Aberystwyth and graduating in either country.

Vice-Chancellor April McMahon announced the University’s delight with the new development and stated that the position of the island “will attract international students who wish to pursue a high-quality university education but might not be in a position to travel to the UK.”

She continued, highlighting that the new campus “offers an excellent example of how we can enable those who value the quality of a UK degree to study at a regional hub or partner institution in a way that is affordable and accessible to them.”
