In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the TV series Doctor Who, the Tardis has been on a UK tour.

Today (19th) was the turn of Aberystwyth to host it. From 10am, the Tardis took a trip to the town centre by Laura Ashley. A Dalek showed up in due course, but luckily the Doctor’s good old companion, K-9, was there to help.

K-9 and the Dalek were both built by the physics professor Steve Fearn and it has even been commented that they are in ‘better condition than the one used in filming’. K-9 was the first to be built in 2008, followed by the Dalek in 2009 – both in great condition. The Dalek has been great entertainment with many taking photos with the Dalek that is controlled by Fearn’s son.

The Tardis will be moving onto campus, outside the Arts Centre from 1pm till 4pm, along with K-9 and the Dalek, so check it out and try not to get exterminated!

The Day of the Doctor, the 50th anniversary special of Doctor Who is due to be broadcast this Saturday (23rd). This falls exactly 50 years after the first ever Doctor Who episode, which was broadcast on November 23rd 1963.
