Aber Town By-Election Results

COMMUNITY ACTIVIST and gifted linguist Lucy Huws has won the Town Council by-election, gaining the vacant Bronglais Ward seat for Plaid Cymru.

The results saw Cllr Huws winning 58% of the total vote (out of a 35% turnout) against her Lib Dem and Independent contenders whom she thanked, along with everyone who has assisted her, for running a good campaign.

The results are as follows:

Lucy Huws  – Plaid Cymru : 204
Bryony Davies –  Lib Dem: 128
Huw Fox – Independent:  17

Cllr Huws has stated that she has a deep respect for the electorate of Bronglais who had turned out in good numbers for the election.

Huws distributed survey forms to every household in the Ward, showing support for an hourly rail service to Aberystwyth as part of her election campaign.
