Berriew beat AUFC

Aberystwyth University Football Club crest.ABERYSTWYTH University Mens F.C failed to build on their opening-day victory against Dolgellau against Berriew, losing 3-0 to them on Wednesday afternoon.

The University side went in 1-0 down at half-time, coming out to dominate early in the second half but conceded a soft goal from a corner on the 75th minute. The decision was then furthered their attack-minded play but a goal five minutes from the end of the game meant that they walked away from the game without anything to show for it.

Chairman Dan Moore said after the game “There were lots of positives: our tempo, work rate and team spirit in particular is fantastic. We will definitely bounce back with three points on Saturday”

Next up for the University mens football side are troubled Welshpool Town F.C. The side were playing in the Welsh Premier League six seasons ago and have been through a turbulent time since then, but saw Chris Kamara and Paul Merson starring for the side last season after coverage on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday.
