Protest planned for government minister lecture

STUDENTS are planning a protest in response to the visit by a government minister to Aberystwyth University on Monday evening.

Leighton Andrews, the Welsh government minister for education, is giving a lecture at the Department of International Politics at 7:30pm on Monday, 14 May. A Facebook event called “Fight for Education at Aber – Protest the Minister for Education” has been set up up Andrew Tindall and calls on students to ”show Leighton [they] won’t sit by whilst he destroys education”, and to “give him the welcome he deserves”.
