Aber Scouts and Guides win fancy dress competition

Aber SSAGO (Student Scout and Guide Organisation) is one of the smaller societies around, but this doesn’t stop us being the best and having a great time. We go climbing, kayaking, walking, snow-tubing, safari-ing, camping, drinking, and dressing (up that is), amongst a whole heap of other things which I’ve forgotten.

We’re not national champs at all of that, but we are the best dresseruppers. At the last rally (a big national camp), we won the fancy dress prize for our entry on the theme of children’s party. We wrapped the society in newspaper, and sellotaped ourselves together, just in case anyone wanted to get away. We hadn’t forgotten the prize either, there was something between our legs. It was long, very long. It was shaped like a sausage. It was a balloon. We won the prize because we looked best and were said to be having the most fun, and we certainly were. And long may the successes, and fun, continue.

You can find out more and see photos of what we get up to on the facebook group – Aber SSAGO or type Aber SSAGO into google, or email [email protected]. And we don’t care if you are a Scout of Guide or not, if you want to get involved, just ask.
